Heading Home hosts session with business community
to discuss housing security work
On July 17, about 50 people from the business community gathered to learn about this region’s housing security work.

The event was hosted by Heading Home of South Central Indiana in partnership with Downtown Bloomington Inc. and the Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce.
Attendees heard from nonprofit staff about street outreach, emergency shelters, housing vouchers, the landlord risk mitigation program, the community land trust and more. They also heard suggestions about how the businesses, including landlords, can get involved.
In a Q&A following the presentation, the group discussed common misperceptions about people experiencing homelessness, as well as concerns raised by businesses in downtown Bloomington.
