Monroe County Recovery Summit event highlights housing challenges for people in recovery

People in recovery face stigma and other challenges in trying to find affordable, accessible housing. That was the message from panelists at a Monroe County Recovery Summit session on Sept. 5, 2024.

The panel, moderated by Heading Home’s Mary Morgan, featured the following speakers: Forrest Gilmore (Beacon Inc.), Kaylee May (Oxford House), Jackie Daniels (Indiana Treatment Center), Scott Bischoff (Amethyst House), Jennifer Fillmore (Centerstone), and Marilyn Burrus (Courage to Change Sober Living). It was part of a day-long summit at the Monroe Convention Center organized by the Monroe County Substance Use Disorder Awareness Commission.
