Statewide Housing Task Force
Legislators make recommendations for 2023 Indiana General Assembly to address affordable housing crisis
A Housing Task Force convened this fall by the Indiana General Assembly has released its final report, with recommendations to address the state’s affordable housing shortage.
- Support additional state funding for infrastructure projects related to housing development through revolving loans or grants.
- Support more resources for brownfields redevelopment and efforts to improve efficiencies at the state agencies who fund and approve brownfields redevelopment projects.
- Support tax incentives for homeownership programs targeted at first-time buyers or low income buyers.
- Support consideration of novel approaches to tax sales that would enable certain qualified community development groups to compete against institutional investors for tax sale properties.
